FLUORITE on QUARTZ
De'An Mine
Jiangxi Prov., China

This specimen of Fluorite on Quartz is quite easily the best and most aesthetic specimen ever offered for sale on the CyberRocks website. The entire specimen measures 15.8 x 12.3 x 5 cm and almost the entire front face is covered by various sized crystals of Fluorite. Each Fluorite crystal is opaque with a medium green colored core, with darker purple edges. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 4.3 x 4.3 x 3 cm. Each crystal has to different extents the color zoning from green to purple and each is in great shape having been etched from the Quartz that once encompassed them. The smallest of the Fluorite crystals are all purple. I try to avoid adjectives as much as possible when describing the specimens, but this a great specimen and one that would enhance any collection. I have scoured the internet and various shows and although no 2 specimens are the same, I have seen many smaller and inferior quality specimens commanding much larger prices. Insurance and delivery conformation are required when purchasing this specimen.

FLUORITE  -  Clay Center, Ohio

All of the following specimens are Fluorite from the White Rock Quarry in Clay Center, Ohio.
These specimens became available early this spring when on the last day of blasting a substantial pocket of Fluorites was uncovered. Since blasting had ended, collectors were able to gain access to the Fluorites in the days that followed. These Fluorites are considered to be some of the best that have come from this quarry. All of the Fluorites are various shades of  brown. While the darker brown is limited to the center of each crystal, the outer edges are a more clear glass, lighter brown. The ones I selected each show a distinct zoned growth within each crystal. The camera could not always pick up the zonal differences because the darker zoning was internal and the camera focused on the outer edges of the specimen. The zoning is much more pronounced than the images show. There was some edge and corner rubbing to almost all of the Fluorites that were available, but I tried to select the ones that had minimal rubbing and were the most reasonably priced. Many began at about $100 and went up quickly from there, but again almost all had some rubbing. The white mineral associated with the Fluorites is Celestine while the gray matrix is Dolostone.

FLUORITE on FLUORITE on FLUORITE
Xiang Hua Ling Mine
Hunan Prov., China

An interesting specimen with 3 distinct generations of Fluorite all present on this 6 x 5.8 x 4.5 cm specimen.  The specimen begins with a light to medium purple colored Fluorite base. On this purple Fluorite sits a medium green 3.5 x 4 cm octohedral Fluorite crystal. At the base of this octohedral crystal sits square and rectangular crystals of Fluorite, which are a light to clear color and readily distinguish themselves from the other green Fluorite. Some of these lighter Fluorite crystals begin to creep up on one side of the octohedral Fluorite. All of the crystals are in good shape.
