  SELENITE

The main water clear Selenite crystal on this specimen measures 1½ x 5/8 x 1/8" and is attached to a base of likewise, small, water clear Selenite which in turn in attached to a white Selenite base. There is a second Selenite crystal that extends perpendicular and is attached to this main crystal. The measurements of this specimen are 2¾ x 2½ x 2".

SELENITE - "Ram's Horn"

Bright white, iridescent and striated Selenite takes on this curved shape in this
1¾ x 1 x 1" specimen that is glued to a clear plastic base.

 PYRRHOTITE on
  DOLOMITE
   Morro Velho,
   Minas Gerais, Brazil

 

Several off white, lustrous crystals of Dolomite make up the base of this 2 x 1½ x ¾" specimen, with the largest Dolomite crystal at 1½ x ¾ x ¾". Place randomly on all of the crystals are brown to rust colored crystals of Pyrrhotite with some of these measuring to ¼ x ¼".

QUARTZ
Los Remedios Mine, Level 3

Multiple, medium gray Smoky Quartz crystals scattered all over the front face of this 1.75 x 1.75 x 1.25" specimen, each topped with a very distinct, off white, cap of Quartz. Each of the sceptered Quartz crystals are far away from each other thus becoming readily discernable on the specimen. The largest scepter cap measures to 3/8 x 1/4" with the longest crystal to 0.5 ". There is also a white spray of scalenohedral Calcite crystals, very sharp, located to one side of the front face.

LIMONITE after MARCASITE

An dark mustard/orange  color encompasses the entire 2.25 x 0.75 x 0.75 " specimen of Limonite after Marcasite. I'm not quite sure what it resembles, but the circular core and pointed extensions from the center of each side make this quite sculptural.

GALENA with CHALCOPYRITE

This complete, 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 ", bright silver, lustrous cube of Galena has what some refer to a "mosaic" appearance to it. It is great condition with a few small Chalcopyrite crystals located on the back sides of the specimen.

AZURITE with MALACHITE

3 very deep royal blue spheres of Azurite dominate this 1.25 x 0.75 x 1 " specimen. The largest sphere, located at the top of the specimen in the image above,  measures 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 " and is complete and in great shape. Properly orientated, all three spheres are can be seen.  Not to be redundant, but the blue is highly lustrous and the deepest blue you would associate with Azurite.

AEGIRINE

Several jet black, lustrous crystals of Aegirine make up this 2¼ x ½ x ¾"specimen. Each of the ends of the 4 main crystals are sharply pointed and there are 3 other pointed , smaller crystals on the back.

SMITHSONITE on STALACTITIC  GOSSAN

With 2 old labels, one from John Albanese Fine Minerals, this 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.25" specimen consists of small, double terminated, oblong shaped crystals of Smithsonite on  gray "Stalactitic Gossan".
