All of the following specimens are DIOPTASE on  CHRYSOCOLLA
from Morenci, Greenlee Co., AZ. Although not readily picked up by the images, the Dioptase is the normal deep green color associated with Dioptase and placed on a turquoise field of Chrysocolla. The color difference are much more striking in person. Most of the Dioptase consists of single crystals, deep green in color and massed together. Some individual, doubly terminated crystals can be seen and all the Dioptase is best seen under a loop.

All of the following specimens are HEMIMORPHITE 
from the Wenshan Mine, Yunnan Prov, China. All of the Hemimorphite is quite lustrous and comes in various shades of turquoise. These pieces were selected from a group that was put in storage some time ago and recently made available.

Great coverage on two sides of this triangular shaped specimen. Matrix with Hemimorphite present on the third side along with contact matrix at the very top point of the specimen.

Thin, natural slice of Hemimorphite with various shades of turquoise present on this front face. The line on the right side of the specimen is not a crack but an elevated plate of the Hemimorphite farther to the right.

RHODOCHROSITES

All of the following specimens are Rhodochrosites from Yan So, Guangxi Prov., China. All of these thumbnail size specimens are from a recent find. The Rhodochrosites range from light pink to medium, deep pink and all have Quartz associations. The Rhodochrosites are small, disc shaped crystals, some individually placed but mostly in groups. The Rhodochrosites are in very good shape. CROCOITE
Adelaide Mine
Dundas, Tasmania, Australia

Numerous, blade-like, bright red/orange crystals of Crocoite contrast well next to the brown/mustard matrix. The largest of the blades extend to ½" and all 3 sides of this 2½ x 1½ x 1½" specimen have numerous Crocoite blades on them. This is indeed a 360º specimen. AMETHYST "FLOWER"
Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

 

 

A cluster of small, medium to light purple Amethyst crystals arranged in a somewhat circular pattern make up the heart of this 6 x 4 x 1" specimen. There are two areas of Druzy Quartz mounds in the center of the specimen and the combination of the Amethyst and the underlying thin, green matrix give this specimen some green, purple and rust tones. Along the top rim of the specimen are small, lustrous, individual Amethyst crystals.

GIBBSITE
Yunnan Prov., China

This specimen consists of light aqua balls or mounds of Gibbsite located at various
parts of the matrix. Under SW all of the Gibbsite fluoresces a dull green color. The specimen measures 2 x 2x 1¼".
