DIOPTASE on  CHRYSOCOLLA, Morenci, Greenlee Co., Arizona

Dimensions 2 x 1 x 0.5"

Main Dioptase coverage 0.5 x 0.5"

Although not readily picked up by the images, the Dioptase is the normal deep green color associated with Dioptase and placed on a turquoise field of Chrysocolla. The color difference is much more striking in person. Most of the Dioptase consists of single crystals, deep green in color and massed together. Some individual, doubly terminated crystals can be seen and all the Dioptase is best seen under a loop.
