RUBY in Matrix     Ponshir, Nuristan, Afghanistan

A 3/8 x 1/4" medium red ruby in a light gray matrix that fluoresces a deep red color under SW. The entire specimen measures 1 3/8  x   7/8 x   1/4".

                                GYPSUM

All of the specimens below consist of intergrown, relatively flat Gypsum
crystals, in various sizes and all being a cloudy-tan color in regular
light. Under UV light all of the specimens fluoresce a white-tan color
and phosphoresce a white/light blue color of limited duration.
