Other Chalcopyrites are present and all exhibit a bright, golden color with some faces muted by the presence of a tiny, dark black unknown crystals that have attached themselves to the Chalcopyrites. Jet black Sphalerite is also present along with transparent Quartz crystals. Not every Quartz crystal is complete, but the overall combination of the 3 make this an interesting specimen.
CHALCOPYRITE Small, individual Chalcopyrite crystal are intergrown to amass this 3.5 x 2.5 x 2" specimen. Almost the entire specimen is composed of this very bright, highly lustrous, golden Chalcopyrite. This front face has a thumb-sized indentation on it which is hard to see in the image above, but is in the upper right corner as you look at the image. The back of the specimen has readily distinguishable Pyrite in association.
CHALCOPYRITE with QUARTZ and SPHALERITE On a specimen measuring 2.75 x 1.75 x 1.75", the entire front face of the specimen is covered with a combination of bright, lustrous, golden Chalcopyrites, with jet black Sphalerites and transparent Quartz crystals. Under a loop, the Quartz crystals are massed together at the base of each cluster and the Chalcopyrites are lightly striated.
GALENA and CHALCOPYRITE
This 3.25 x 2.25 x 1.25" specimen features a highly lustrous, bright silver Galena crystal in the midst of massive Chalcopyrite. The main Galena crystal measures 1 x 1.25 x 1" and has the "melted " appearance on this front face, while the top face has the more traditional, architectural appearance. The base of this main crystal is also melted while the Galenas below it are not. The massive Chalcopyrite is golden and somewhat bright. MINERAL SECTION <">
