#CH156   $12.00

FLUORESCENT PENDANT
Franklin, NJ

#CH156 is mostly red fluorescing Calcite with spots of green fluorescing Willemite and black, non fluorescing Franklinite and measures 1 x 1 x 0.25". Sterling silver ring attached to the top.

The following specimens are CALCITE form the Balanos Mine, Guanajuato, Mexico.
In regular light the Calcite is white with rust colored inclusions located at the center
of the scalenohedral crystals. Under UV light, the tips of the crystals fluoresce a bright white color
while the remainder of the crystal fluoresces a pinkish color.  Every specimen has at least one cleaved crystal on it,
but the different fluorescence led me to still offer these here. This Calcite was from a new find made in late 2003
and I was able to select the best of what was put aside from that find and made available at Tucson 2004.

#CH22   $25.00
Overall size 2 x 2.5 x 0.75"     Largest crystal  1 x 0.5" doubly terminated.
The Calcites on this specimen sit on a white matrix of small Quartz crystals.

#CF309   $25.00
Overall size 1.75 x 1.25 x 1.25"   Cross shaped group measures 1 x 0.75" and sits on a light purple Amethyst matrix. More Calcites on the back.

#CH23  $25.00
Overall size 1.75 x 1.5 x 1.25"     Largest crystal  1.25" doubly terminated.

#CH145  $4.00

SCHEELITE
Arizona

A 1.75 x 1.25 x 0.75" specimen of light blue fluorescing Scheelite from Arizona with an old label. Part of the Fred DeVito collection, but no notation of such on the label.

The following specimens are all AMAZONITE from Konso, Southern Nations Regional State, Ethiopia. Now I admit the regular light color of these is not as brilliant turquoise as Amazonite can be, but some are better than others and all were purchased for the regal maroon colored fluorescence that these lighter colored Amazonites display under SW UV. The fluorescent images I took also do not adequately show the color of the specimens, but the color under SW is a deep, deep maroon color, very distinct and very prominent. The  fluorescent image below was the best I could get, but they all fluoresce very nicely.

SELENITE
Red River Floodway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Excellent cluster of large blades of amber colored crystals with the entire specimen measuring 2 x 2.5 x 1.75". All of the crystals are transparent, with the two larger crystals being the most transparent and dramatic. The crystal featured in the image on the right measures 1 x 0.75 x 0.5" and is almost clear with a light tint of amber. All of the crystals are in very good condition and under UV light, the entire specimen fluoresces an intense light blue/white color. They also phosphoresce a white color for quite a long time after the SW is removed.

#CH160  $22.00

FLUORITE with BARITE
Bingham, Socorro County, New Mexico

A very deep blue fluorescing Fluorite contrasts well with a cream/white fluorescing Barite on this 6 x 3 x 3" specimen. The color contrast under UV is much more distinct and enjoyable than in the image above. Along with massive Fluorite, there are small crystals of medium purple Fluorite also present on the specimen.

#CH163   $40.00

CALCITE
Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul,
Brazil

A single, double terminated Calcite crystal measuring 4.25 x 0.75 x 0.75" sits on a small shard of matrix and gives this specimen the overall dimensions of 4.25 x 2 x 1". There is a zonal, red fluorescence to the crystal under SW UV and the tips of the crystal are naturally blunt rather than tapered to a point. This can be better seen in the enlargements.

#CH164   $22.00

CALCITE
Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul,
Brazil

Numerous, pointed, white Calcite crystals extend in all directions off the top of this 2.5 x 1.75 x 1.25" specimen. The individual crystals are in great shape with the largest crystal having a yellow tinge to it and with all the crystals fluorescing a bright red. The largest crystal measures 1.25 x 0.75 x 0.25".

#CH165   $25.00

FLUORITE
Weardale Co., Durham, England

Numerous, light green Fluorite crystals are present over most of 2 faces of this 2 x 2 x 1.5" specimen. Some of the crystal have a blue center and are quite distinct.  The fluorescent image is looking straight on the corner of two faces of the specimen and the Fluorite fluoresces a deep, royal blue.

PETOSKEY STONES
Charlevoix Co., Michigan

As the State Stone of Michigan, these specimens are fossils of masses of colony coral, Hexagonaria percarinata, nicknamed Petoskey Stones. In Ottawa Indian, a variant of Petoskey means "Sun rays of the dawn". These stones have been naturally rounded by erosion, but have been polished on their front faces. They are medium gray/brown in regular light, but under SW UV these stones fluoresce a medium white color.

All of the following specimens are Vlasovite from the Kipawa Complex,
Villedieu Twp., Quebec, Canada. The Vlasovite fluoresces a strong yellow.
