PYRITE (ARSENIAN)
The following Pyrite specimens are all from the Carlin Trend, Eureka Co., Nevada.
The Pyrites are referred to as Arsenian due to their Arsenic content along with the presence of Gold. As noted on the Geoscience Website, "The Carlin-trend in Nevada hosts some of the world’s largest Au deposits, reaching a maximum of about 40 million ounces in the Betze-Post-Sreamer deposit. Most of the Au is associated with very fine-grained arsenian pyrite containing up to 1 wt% Au that forms rims on earlier pyrite or solitary, porous aggregates. These large concentrations of Au have not been observed directly, an attribute that has led to the term "invisible" Au being applied to ore in Carlin-type deposits."
Each Pyrite is extremely bright and extremely lustrous. If you think the pictures look too bright, just wait until you see the specimens.
#CH77 $38.00
Overall dimensions 2 x 1.75 x 1"
While the edges of the original Pyrite crystals are still intact, the faces of each have been covered by a druzy Pyrite coating, equally bright and lustrous and adding to the brightness of the specimen.
#CH78 $28.00
Overall dimensions 2 x 1.75 x 1"
Closely packed sheets of Pyrite crystal make up this specimen.

SPANISH PYRITES
The following Pyrites are all from the Ambasaguas Mine #2,
Level 2, La Rioja, La Ciudad Ambasaguas, Spain.
All specimens are floater Pyrites with no point of attachment. Each is composed of a number of Pyritohedrons that have grown together to make the specimen. All are in excellent condition.

China
A cluster of bright Pyrite crystals that makes this floater specimen measure 2 x 2 x 1¼. The largest of the crystals measure to ¾" and the crystals on this side have a dusting of tiny, bright Pyrite crystals near the contact points of the Pyrite cubes. The other side of the specimen closely resembles this one, except the other side does not have the dusting of tiny Pyrites.
