A large, steel gray Tetrahedrite crystal measuring 1.5 x 1.25x 0.5" is placed in the center bottom of this 2.75 x 2 x 1.75" specimen. The larger crystal is intact with small, disc shaped, off white crystals of Calcite placed on the bottom section of the crystal. Some damage to the periphery of the specimen.

Spinel Twinned Galena
Dal'negorsk Primorsky Kray, Russia

Numerous, steel grey, spinel twinned Galena crystals are present on this 6.9 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm specimen. The largest of the twinned Galenas measures 1.8 x 1 x 0.3 cm and has a mirror like finish as seen in the upper right image which shows a reflection of the Calcite and Quartz also present the specimen. Numerous thin, plate-like crystals of tan Calcite, black Sphalerite crystals and tiny , white Quartz crystals are also on this specimen.

A small, dark green, lustrous Vivianite crystal, placed toward one end of a specimen that measures 1.5 x 1.75 x 1.25 ". The Vivianite crystal measures 3/8 x  1/4 x  1/8" and is in perfect condition.

                                                                    GALENA
Huanzala Mine, Huallanca District, Dos de Mayo Province, Huanuco Department, Peru 

The entire front face of this 7 x 5.25 x 1" specimen is covered in highly lustrous, bright silver Galena crystals. All of the crystals are in very good shape with the largest of these measuring to 0.5 x 0.5". Quite a few of the crystals exhibit the "melted Galena look", but the reflections off the entire specimen are quite noticeable. Between certain of the Galena crystals are Pyrite crystals and these just add to the overall lustrous nature of this specimen.

 

RHODOCHROSITES

All of the following specimens are Rhodochrosites from Yan So, Guangxi Prov., China. All of these thumbnail size specimens are from a recent find. The Rhodochrosites range from light pink to medium, deep pink and all have Quartz associations. The Rhodochrosites are small, disc shaped crystals, some individually placed but mostly in groups. The Rhodochrosites are in very good shape.
