For a white on white specimen, this one is fairly distinct. On a bed of snow white, druzy Quartz sits a grouping of 3 semi-transparent Calcite crystals. This Calcite cluster measures 2.25 x 1 x 1.25" with all of the crystals in great shape. There is a contact at the back of the uppermost crystal, but it is in the back and not noticeable from the display face. Under SW, the Calcite crystal fluoresces an bright red.

#CC32  $75.00

The specimen above is FLUORITE from the Qinlong Mine, Guizhou Prov., China. In natural light, the Fluorite is a medium to deep purple color, with some crystals having a hint of green and with the matrix being an off white. Under fluorescent light, the Fluorite fluoresces a deep blue color. Overall dimensions 7½ x 5¼ x 2"

AGATE GEODE    Rio do Sul, Brazil

This Agate geode measures 7" long, 4¼" high and is 4" thick. The area surrounding the open vug is dark brown and is highly polished. The vug itself measures 3¼" long, 1½" high and it is 3" deep. The vug has a flat bottom with a dome over it and is a light blue-gray and tan color, with the crystals extending from the bottom being white. Under UV light, the entire vug takes on  a bright, lime green color. The entire bottom and the entire dome are a bright lime green, while the extending crystals are a brighter lime green.

                                    FLUORITE      Villabona, Asturias, Spain

A 3½ x 2½ x ¾" specimen of light to medium brown crystals of Fluorite, that under SW fluoresce a whitish color, with the edges of each crystal fluorescing a strong white, thus outlining each crystal in white.

RUBY in Matrix     Ponshir, Nuristan, Afghanistan

A 3/8 x 1/4" medium red ruby in a light gray matrix that fluoresces a deep red color under SW. The entire specimen measures 1 3/x   7/8 x   1/4".

#CA48  $20.00

GYPSUM Schimmelberg, Northern Austria

3 x 3 x 1¼" with largest crystal 1¼ x ¾ x 5/8", on the right top. The specimens below consist of intergrown, relatively flat Gypsum crystals, in various sizes and all being a cloudy-tan color in regular light. Under UV light all of the specimens fluoresce a white-tan color
and phosphoresce a white/light blue color of limited duration.

APATITE     Harding Pegmatite, Taos, Co., NM

Yellow fluorescing Apatite in a matrix of non-fluorescing pegmatite, that has certain areas of the Apatite fluorescing brighter that others. The images above represent two different sides of the specimen and the blue color is due to the reflection of the UV light in the image. This specimen measures 6½ x 3½ x 2½".
